Follow these steps to update the APN on your Netgear Orbi router for optimal connectivity.

  1. Download the NETGEAR Orbi App: If you haven't already, download and install the NETGEAR Orbi app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  2. Open the App: Launch the NETGEAR Orbi app on your smartphone or tablet.
  3. Log in with NETGEAR Account: Log in with your NETGEAR account credentials or create an account if you don't have one. This account is used to manage your NETGEAR devices and access cloud services.
  4. Connect to Your Router: Make sure your device is connected to the Orbi network.
  5. Router Admin Login: When prompted, log in to the router's admin interface. The default username is admin and the default password is more4less (or More4LessPlans if the former does not work).
  6. Go to Router Settings: Tap on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) or the settings icon on the main screen to access the router settings.
  7. Access Mobile Settings: Navigate to Settings > Advanced > Mobile > APN.
  8. Add a New APN: Tap on Add to create a new APN profile.
  9. Enter APN Details: In the APN field, type the required APN (reach out to our support for this) and leave all other fields blank.
  10. Save the Settings: Tap on Save or Apply to save the new APN settings.
  11. Restart the Router: Reboot your Netgear Orbi router to apply the new settings.
  12. Verify Connection: After rebooting, check your internet connection to ensure it is working properly.

Follow these steps to manually select a network on your Netgear Orbi router for better control.

  1. Download the NETGEAR Orbi App: If you haven't already, download and install the NETGEAR Orbi app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  2. Open the App: Launch the NETGEAR Orbi app on your smartphone or tablet.
  3. Log in with NETGEAR Account: Log in with your NETGEAR account credentials or create an account if you don't have one. This account is used to manage your NETGEAR devices and access cloud services.
  4. Connect to Your Router: Make sure your device is connected to the Orbi network.
  5. Router Admin Login: When prompted, log in to the router's admin interface. The default username is admin and the default password is more4less (or More4LessPlans if the former does not work).
  6. Go to Router Settings: Tap on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) or the settings icon on the main screen to access the router settings.
  7. Access Mobile Settings: Navigate to Settings > Advanced > Mobile.
  8. Select Manual Network Selection: Within the Mobile settings, find and tap on the option for Network Selection.
  9. Choose Manual: Change the network selection mode from Auto to Manual.
  10. Select Your Preferred Network: A list of available networks will appear. Select your preferred network from the list (e.g., Rogers, Bell, or Telus).
  11. Save the Settings: Tap on Save or Apply to save your network selection.
  12. Restart the Router: Reboot your Netgear Orbi router to apply the new network settings.
  13. Verify Connection: After rebooting, check your internet connection to ensure it is working properly with your selected network.
